Understanding the functional interplay of cellular macromolecules often relies on detailed 3D structural information. During this intense five-day method course, we will demonstrate the application of single-particle electron cryo-microscopy in theory and practice assisted by a team of international guest speakers who are active developers and application experts in their fields. Starting with laboratory work on different samples, participating PhD students will apply cryo-preparation and EM screening techniques and collect their own data on a high-end Electron Microscope. Hands-on bioinformatic data processing, particle reconstruction and density interpretation will be followed by model evaluation and presentation training to conclude the course. Application deadline: July 15, 2022The course is limited to 12 participants maximum. Applications will be evaluated and selected by the organizers based on suitability for the course.
